About Maria

Maria is developing an employment, insolvency law and commercial law practice. Her practice spans corporate and personal insolvency, commercial litigation which often includes an element of insolvency and employment disputes. 

 

Maria has a wide array of dispute resolution experience ranging from shareholder and management disputes, contentious and non-contentious insolvency, unfair or wrongful dismissal claims, intellectual property disputes and civil litigation. She acts for Insolvency Practitioners, employers, employees, companies, shareholders, directors and accountants. 

 

Maria deals with all aspects of civil litigation, insolvency, dispute resolution and employment matters providing an exceptional and bespoke service to each client. Maria also has extensive experience with directors' disqualification proceedings, specifically with seeking permission to act as a director after having been disqualified. In October 2020, Maria was successful in an application to the court for leave to be a director notwithstanding two previous disqualifications. This case was ground-breaking in that it was the first time, permission was granted to act as a director after having been disqualified twice before.   

 

Prior to joining KaurMaxwell in 2018 as a paralegal, Maria completed her Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Certificate at the University of Law, Moorgate before qualifying with the firm in 2021. Maria has a wealth of previous career experience having worked as a Press Correspondent for Senate Majority Harry Reid in Washington, DC before transitioning into corporate life working in finance and providing freelance digital media consultancy. 

 

After graduating Cum Laude with a degree in International Economics from the University of San Francisco she went on to complete the General Management Program at Stanford.
