KaurMaxwell is now a Certified B Corporation

After months of rigorous assessments and audits of our business, we are incredibly pleased to announce our certification as a B Corporation (“B Corp”). We are proud to join a growing group of companies reinventing business by pursuing purpose and using business as a force for good. We at KaurMaxwell are challenging law firm culture making it a much more transparent and positive experience for our stakeholders. This is something we care about deeply and we are leading by example – from advocating a paperless practice to creating a happy, healthy and inclusive workplace, we are 100% committed to using our business as a force for good.

KaurMaxwell has been certified by B Lab, the not-for-profit behind the B Corp movement, as having met rigorous social and environmental standards which represent its commitment to goals beyond profit. This certification is recognition of the high standards we uphold at KaurMaxwell, and it allows us to amplify our pursuit of changing law firm culture. 

The B Corp certification addresses the entirety of a business’ operations and covers five key impact areas of Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers. The certification process is thorough, with applicants required to reach a benchmark score of over 80 while providing evidence of socially and environmentally responsible practices relating to energy supplies, waste and water use, worker compensation, diversity and corporate transparency. To complete the certification, the company will legally embed their commitment to purpose beyond profit into its articles of association.

We are proud to be part of a community of 6,279 businesses globally who have certified as B Corps. The B Corp community in the UK, representing a broad cross section of industries and sizes, comprises over 1,300 companies and include well-known brands such as The Guardian, innocent, Patagonia, The Body Shop and organic food pioneers Abel & Cole. Together, we create standards, policies, tools and programs that shift behaviour, culture and balance profit and purpose.
