Shennind Awat-Ranai

Solicitor

About Shennind

Shennind is an NQ solicitor specialising in data protection, intellectual property (IP), and commercial law, with a strong inclination towards the technology sector. His legal journey is underpinned by a First Class LLB and a distinction in his LPC.

Shennind’s data protection experience includes managing data protection compliance programmes, navigating multinational privacy projects, and drafting and negotiating intricate commercial agreements for high-profile clients. His IP experience consists of managing trademark portfolios of world-renowned brands and navigating IP challenges with a strategic and analytical mindset. Spending six months in-house at a global private equity firm honed Shennind’s ability to lead work-streams and key initiatives independently as well.

Shennind’s keen interest, participation, and five years of industry experience in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space (Web3) have enabled him to form a deep understanding of how the industry functions, and he is able to fully understand the unique position founders in Web3 find themselves in. He has curated a strong global network of founders, builders, advisors and participants in the space and has also showcased his thought leadership on emerging technology by publishing insightful articles on artificial intelligence, blockchain, and even technology-driven fan engagement in sports.

Hobbies and Interests

In his free time, Shennind is an ardent supporter of Liverpool FC and has to constantly fend off arguments as to why Brighton & Hove Albion FC are the better club from his Brighton season ticket-holding partner and her family. Showing them a picture of James Milner holding the Premier League trophy in a Liverpool kit usually does the trick! Unfortunately, you will probably find Shennind at the Amex more than you would find him at Anfield these days.

Shennind also spends some of his free time immersed in the world of Web3 to keep up to date with the trends and challenges of the industry, which moves and develops at the speed of light.

Key Experience

Shennind joined KaurMaxwell in 2025 as a Technology Associate.

He previously trained and qualified as a solicitor at Charles Russell Speechlys LLP from 2022 to 2024.
